Further Education and Training (FET) offers a wide variety of life-long education options to anyone over 16 years of age. This includes apprenticeships, traineeships, post leaving certificate (PLC) courses, community and adult education, as well as core literacy and numeracy services. FET courses are provided at Levels 1 to 6 on the National Framework of Qualification (NFQ). The accessibility of FET and the opportunities presented for learners, including job readiness and progression to higher education, are objectives of further education and training.
