ETBs are the largest provider of multi-denominational post-primary level education in Ireland. ETB schools are state, co-educational, multi-denominational schools underpinned by the core values of Excellence in Education, Respect, Care, Equality and Community.

ETBs provide ongoing IT, Human Resources, Buildings and Governance supports to their schools. These supports benefit the entire school community as it allows the principal and teaching staff to concentrate on the provision of the quality education for all students.

Nessa White, the General Secretary for ETBI stated “I am delighted that ETBs are applying for the patronage of these schools. ETBs have a proven track record in establishing new schools in short timeframes and have a well-established reputation for providing quality, inclusive education in the communities they serve”.

The Department of Education and Skills (DES) will open the online patronage competition process in the coming weeks. Parents will be able to get more information on the patronage competition process and how to vote for the relevant ETB to be patron of the new school from the individual ETB websites.
